Walk: The classic horseshoe walk from Ambleside. For: Adults Duration: 7 to 8 hours including travel Distance / Ascent: 12 miles/19km, 3700ft/1130m Grading: Strenuous - Leaders reserve the right to refuse acceptance on the walk if they have concerns about an individual's fitness to walk Description: The Fairfield Horseshoe is one of the classic routes in the Lake District. Starting from Amblesidewe will traverse 8 Wainwrights on a high level walk with stunning views. However if the weather is very bad the route will be changed to accommodate the abilities of people on the walk. Meeting Place: Kendal College, Milnthorpe Road, LA9 5AY. Pay and Display car park on site. Meeting Time: Friday 8th May at 8:20am for an 8:30am start Leader / Organisation: Bryan Hardaker / Kendal Fellwalkers Equipment: Sturdy walking boots, full waterproofs (top and overtrousers), warm clothing (including hat and gloves), food and drink sufficient for a day out on the hills.
