cautley spout and the calf

Walk: A fantastic walk of 6.5 miles around the Howgills seeing Cautley Spout waterfall in all it’s glory.

For: Suitable for all.

Duration: 4 - 5 hours.

Distance / Ascent: 6.5 miles/10.5 km, 2111 ft/643 m.

Grading: Easy to Moderate. The route has one steep climb that lasts about 15 to 20 mins then the rest of the walk is mainly flat with easy gradually climbs of around 20 to 50m in Length.

Description: A fantastic walk around the Howgills seeing Cautley Spout waterfall in all it’s glory. The there and back walk takes us to the Nuttall’s and Hewitts of Great Dummacks 663m, Calder’s 674m, Bram Rigg top 672m, The Calf 676m and White Fell Head 636m from there we head back down. We will be following the same path down past Cautley Spout. The walk has fantastic views of Sedbergh Town and the Howgills Fells.
