Description: Wainwright describes this route in his outlying Fells book (Vol 8) as “All is grass, and most of it is wet grass. Yet Crookdale has a certain beauty, the beauty of desolation” .
A great but desolate ridge walk taking in views of the Borrowdale Valley, Kentmere and the Bannisdale Valley where we are unlikely to see another soul. We take in the summits of High House bank 495m, Robin Hood 492m, Lords Seat 524m, Harrop Pike 637m, Great Yarlside 585m, Little Yarlside 516m and Whatshaw Common 485m
There is the possibility to include Sleddale Fell 638m and Wasdale Pike 565m.
