Description: The route is the top 2.5km of the old Lancaster Canal. Although filled in, some bridges and other artefacts remain on what is now a protected route in Kendal.
As a guided heritage walk there will be several stops along the way to point out and talk about the canal and its history. We get as far as Natland Road and the then turn back to follow the canal route back to canal head. This avoids the busy town centre roads. Walkers who wish to explore more of the town centre can take their own shortcut route(s) from Natland road.
